Multimodal Transportation Fund
The Multimodal Transportation Fund provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure that a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to the residents of the commonwealth.
Applications will be received between March 1st and July 31st of each year. All applications and all required supplemental information must be electronically submitted by close of business on July 31st for hopeful consideration at the November CFA board meeting. The required, complete one (1) hard copy of the application must be postmarked no later than July 31st.
Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the Commonwealth Financing Authority has extended the deadline for Multimodal Transportation Fund submissions to September 30, 2020.
Funds may be used for the development, rehabilitation and enhancement of transportation assets to existing communities, streetscape, lighting, sidewalk enhancement, pedestrian safety, connectivity of transportation assets and transit-oriented development.

Grants are available for projects with a total cost of $100,000 or more. Grants shall not exceed $3,000,000 for any project.
Please note: the CFA Multimodal Transportation Fund is separate from PennDOT’s Multimodal Program.
