Wolf Administration Participates in Recognition of Tucker Auto-Mation Holding as Part of Pennsylvania Manufacturing Week

Harrisburg, PA – Today, on behalf of Governor Tom Wolf, Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) executive deputy secretary Neil Weaver joined the Westmoreland County Industrial Development Corporation and other local economic development leaders to recognize Tucker Auto-Mation Holding, a manufacturer of automatic doors, for the company’s contributions to Westmoreland County manufacturing.

“Tucker Auto-Mation has played a vital role in the manufacturing sector in this area, so it’s important to see it receive the recognition it deserves,” Weaver said. “Pennsylvania Manufacturing Week is all about sharing the stories of companies like Tucker Auto-Mation that not only keep manufacturing jobs here in the commonwealth, but create them as well – making them excellent career opportunities for young people across Pennsylvania.”

In 2013, Tucker Auto-Mation received support through DCED’s programs, including a $25,000 Pennsylvania First grant and $11,250 in WEDnetPA job training funding. These programs help manufacturers and companies in all sectors by providing assistance for expansion and workforce development costs.

“Manufacturing is a significant part of the workforce in Westmoreland County,” said Jason W. Rigone, executive director of the Westmoreland County Industrial Development Corporation. “Pennsylvania Manufacturing Week allows us to showcase the modern manufacturing technology and careers available in the county. From this, we hope the younger generations are inspired to explore careers in manufacturing.”

Pennsylvania Manufacturing Week runs through Friday, October 6.
