Wolf Administration Joins New York Blower in Celebration of Expansion in Lawrence County and Creation of 22 New Jobs

Harrisburg, PA – Today, on behalf of Governor Tom Wolf, Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) officials joined company executives and local leaders to celebrate the groundbreaking for the expansion of New York Blower (NYB) in New Castle, a project that will create at least 22 new, full-time manufacturing jobs at the site.

“I applaud NYB as it breaks ground on a fantastic project like this that not only has such a positive impact on the community, but demonstrates the strong public-private partnership that the Wolf Administration cultivates,” DCED Secretary Dennis Davin said. “We’re excited at what this expansion will mean for Lawrence County for years to come.”

Coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team, in July of this year Governor Wolf announced NYB’s plans to expand their Lawrence County facility and create 22 new jobs. The project will expand the company’s existing 15,000 square-foot facility by over 30,000 square feet and double its New Castle workforce. Additionally, New York Blower has committed to investing at least $4.7 million into the project.

“We at NYB are proud to be expanding our operation in New Castle,” said Scott Hamilton, vice president of operations at NYB. “It has been a great experience working with the Governor’s Action Team to solidify the project in Pennsylvania. It was not a difficult decision to make New Castle a foundation for the continued growth and success of our business.”
