Secretary Davin Continues ‘Jobs That Pay’ Tour at Calgon Carbon, Highlighting Governor Wolf’s Plans for Manufacturing in Pennsylvania
Neville Island, PA – Today, Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Secretary Dennis Davin continued the ‘Jobs that Pay’ tour at the manufacturing facility of Calgon Carbon, highlighting Governor Tom Wolf’s plans for investing in manufacturing and continuing to make Pennsylvania the most attractive place to do business.
“One of Governor Wolf’s top priorities is to listen to business leaders and help create an environment in which manufacturing companies like Calgon Carbon can thrive,” Secretary Davin said. “When global companies choose to grow their operations here, it helps the local economy, it helps the business, and it helps the people who get the jobs that growth creates.”
Secretary Davin also highlighted Governor Wolf’s manufacturing initiatives in the recently-approved general appropriations bill that encourage job creation in the manufacturing sector and improve workforce training.
Calgon Carbon is investing more than $30 million at one of its manufacturing facilities at Neville Island to renovate the building and allow for future growth in Pennsylvania. Calgon Carbon currently offers carbon technologies used in over 700 distinct market applications from purifying air and drinking water, to purifying foods and pharmaceuticals, to separating gas and removing mercury emissions from coal-fired power plants.
