Harrisburg, PA – Governor Tom Wolf announced today that PRUFTECHNIK, Inc., a global provider of high-quality testing and measuring systems for industrial maintenance, will establish a national headquarters in Philadelphia, a move that will create 35 new, high-wage, full-time jobs.
“Today’s announcement is another indicator that businesses are feeling confident in Pennsylvania as the best place to start and grow their companies,” Governor Wolf said. “Companies from all across the U.S. are moving their operations to Pennsylvania, and Pruftechnik is the latest one to make the move.”
PRUFTECHNIK will expand operations and establish a national headquarters which will house its sales and management operations for alignment systems and condition monitoring at a renovated building on Bartram Avenue in Philadelphia. The new facility will also house PRUFTECHNIK Services, Inc., a subsidiary that provides specialized machinery services. The company will invest more than $1.4 million in the project, and has also committed to creating 35 new, high-wage full-time jobs over the next three years.
“The new operation enables PRUFTECHNIK to bridge the gap between R&D, product management, international sales and production in Germany, and the end-user community in the United States. The ‘factory direct’ approach makes us more customer-centric,” Florian Buder, Chief Executive Officer, PRUFTECHNIK North America said.
PRUFTECHNIK received a funding proposal from the Department of Community and Economic Development that includes $70,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits to be distributed upon creation of the new jobs, and $21,350 in WEDnetPA funding for employee training.
The project was coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team, an experienced group of economic development professionals who report directly to the governor and work with businesses that are considering locating or expanding in Pennsylvania.
PRUFTECHNIK is a market leader in laser alignment systems and a world leading solution provider for the maintenance of rotating equipment. PRUFTECHNIK’s portfolio of products and services ranges from the monitoring of machine health and fault diagnosis through to corrective solutions such as alignment and field balancing. PRUFTECHNIK operates 20 sales and service locations around the world.
