Governor Wolf Announces Over 300 New Jobs With Expansion of WNS Facility In Luzerne County

Harrisburg, PA – Governor Tom Wolf announced today that WNS, a global provider of business process management services, will expand operations at its existing facility in Hanover Township, Luzerne County. The expansion will create 303 new jobs over the next five years.

“I am thrilled that WNS recognizes the value that Pennsylvania’s strategic location offers,” Governor Wolf said. “We continue to make smart investments through partnerships with the private sector and as a result this is another example of a foreign-owned company choosing Pennsylvania to expand and create more jobs here.”

Due to anticipated growth, WNS will expand operations in Hanover Township, where the company is currently located. The company has committed to an investment of at least $2 million in the project, including the upgrade of existing facilities and infrastructure expansion. WNS has also committed to the creation of 303 new, full-time jobs over the next five years, and the retention of its current Pennsylvania workforce of 72 employees.

WNS Global Services received a funding proposal from the Department of Community and Economic Development that includes a $400,000 Pennsylvania First program grant, $303,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits to be distributed upon creation of the new jobs, and $136,350 in WEDnetPA funding for employee training.

The project was coordinated by Pennsylvania’s Office of International Business Development and the Governor’s Action Team, an experienced group of economic development professionals who report directly to the governor and work with businesses that are considering locating or expanding in Pennsylvania, in collaboration with Penn’s Northeast.

“Penn’s Northeast is proud to partner with DCED and the Commonwealth to help bring more than 300 jobs to the Hanover Industrial Park,” said John Augustine, III, president, Penn’s Northeast. “As the regional economic development driver, it is our mission to attract quality employers to Northeastern PA. WNS Global is a leader in business process management, and we are excited that in working with them, they have decided to expand their presence in our region thanks to the strong talents of our local workforce.”

WNS is a wholly-owned subsidiary of WNS Holdings Limited, a provider of global business process management that offers services including customer care, finance and accounting, research and analytics, and industry-specific solutions. WNS is a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: WNS) with more than 31,000 employees worldwide.
