Governor Wolf Announces 147 Jobs with New ContactUS Facility in Fayette County

Harrisburg, PA – Governor Tom Wolf announced today that ContactUS, LLC, a provider of contact center support, will establish operations in Redstone Township, Fayette County. The move will result in 147 jobs.

“Today I am happy to say that another strong employer will be hiring 147 people in Fayette County,” said Governor Wolf. “It’s imperative that we do everything in our power to ensure that Pennsylvanians have access to full-time jobs and are able to maintain employment that provides fair wages. ContactUs boasts a 100 percent U.S.-based workforce and echoes our commitment to providing secure employment.”

ContactUS will open a new 175-seat call center on Roberts Road in Redstone Township, Fayette County and will invest at least $838,000 at the new site. The company has additionally committed to the creation of 147 full-time positions, including the reemployment of some workers who would have otherwise been displaced. The facility’s prior tenant, another contact center provider, ceased operations at the site last month.

ContactUS received a funding proposal from the Department of Community and Economic Development that includes a $73,500 Pennsylvania First program grant, $66,150 in WEDnetPA funding for employee training, and $147,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits to be distributed upon creation of the new jobs.

“When plans to close the facility were announced, the client came to us, concerned about losing the excellent service and expertise that the staff in Redstone Township was providing them,” Trevor Friesen, president, ContactUS, LLC said. “The partnership we formed with the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development helped create a win-win-win for the employees, our client, and ourselves. We are excited to bring more clients and employees to this location in the future.”

The project was coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team, an experienced group of economic development professionals who report directly to the governor and work with businesses that are considering locating or expanding in Pennsylvania, in collaboration with Fay-Penn Economic Development Council.

“We are excited to welcome ContactUS to Fayette County. Working with the Governor’s Action Team, Fay-Penn provided site selection assistance to help attract ContactUS to the county,” Robert Shark, executive director, Fay-Penn Economic Development Council said. “Fayette County continues to attract businesses with its attractive lifestyle and proximity to major metro markets. We look forward to a long and continued relationship with ContactUS, as they grow their business and increase employment opportunities for our residents.”
