Norristown, PA – Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary Dennis Davin today continued his “Jobs that Pay” tour at LCR Embedded Systems, Inc., a provider of electronic equipment as well as engineering and manufacturing capabilities to defense and rugged industrial markets, to highlight Governor Wolf’s proposals to support essential business-driven job training.
“The governor’s budget supports proven strategies to increase the workforce pipeline by providing at least $8 million in funding to support the Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania,” said Davin. “WEDnetPA is an important tool to help ensure Pennsylvania businesses have access to a highly-skilled labor force, and that residents have education and training they need.”
Governor Wolf’s proposals will provide an increase of $25 million to Pennsylvania First to continue to foster investment, job creation and provide support for WEDnetPA, a critical employee training program available to Pennsylvania’s workers. WEDnetPA provides qualified employers with training dollars for new and existing employees through a unique partnership with community colleges, state system universities, and other higher educational institutions.
“LCR Embedded Systems has utilized WEDnetPA funding for over a decade for staff training, enabling us to honor our core values of employee development and continuous improvement by making sure that our technical staff are ready to meet and exceed any challenge now and in the future,” said Nissen Isakov, president of LCR Embedded Systems. “As a preferred supplier to some of the country’s biggest defense contractors, we understand the value of highly-trained staff in creating products that members of our nation’s armed forces can rely on when lives are on the line, making the funding assistance we receive from WEDnetPA even more important.”
Davin joined officials from U.S. Navy and Raytheon Company today for a tour of the facility.
