Film in Pennsylvania
Since the Film Office’s Film Tax Credit program’s inception in 2007, hundreds of productions have taken advantage of Pennsylvania’s unique combination of metropolitan, wilderness, small town and rural landscapes, and now the commonwealth is emerging as a top destination for filmmakers.
The Lovely Bones. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Love & Other Drugs. The Colbert Report. Blue Valentine. The Perks of Being a Wallflower. These are but a fraction of the productions that have received funding through the PA Film Office and are providing a boost to local economies throughout the state.
A projected $435 million will be spent in PA by film production companies approved for tax credits in FY 2015-16.
