Ripon Advance: FAA awards $1.4 million grant to Pennsylvania’s University Park Airport

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the University Park Airport in State College, Pennsylvania a grant totaling more than $1.4 million, U.S. Rep. Glenn Thompson (R-PA) announced earlier this week.

The money will be used to used to refurbish the facility’s apron area, where planes are parked for maintenance and fueling.

“This funding is part of a much larger project to maintain and rehabilitate the University Park Airports facilities, making sure it is kept up-to-date with FAA standards,” Thompson said. “I commend the airport staff for their vision and hard work to ensure the airport serves our region for generations to come.”
