Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR)

Overview

Grants for federally designated disaster areas impacted by Tropical Storm Lee and Hurricane Irene.

The application process is open to those municipalities, consortia or non-profit organizations that are interested in applying for the housing component funds under the second allocation PL 113-2. DCED may at its discretion, open the application window for funding in the future.

Uses

Housing rehabilitation, homebuyer assistance, housing development and other housing-related activities, infrastructure improvements, economic development and planning and technical assistance activities.

Eligibility
  • Units of local government, consortia and nonprofit entities in the 36 counties impacted
Funding

Grants for priority housing component projects identified through the most recent needs assessment. See guidelines for maximum assistance.

Terms

Fifty percent of the grant funding must be used for activities that benefit low- and moderate income persons. Refer to the program guidelines.

Eighty percent of the funds must be targeted to the following counties and municipalities within those counties — Luzerne, Bradford, Dauphin, Columbia and Wyoming.
